Founded in 1987
under the leadership of Patty Garney, left, and Sandra Doolin Aust, The Harvest
Ball has become the largest single fundraising event devoted exclusively to
raising funds for charities serving communities in the Northland. Since its
inception, the Ball has distributed over $4.1 million
to many different deserving agencies. Proceeds from the 21st annual Harvest Ball
will benefit programs and services designed to stabilize, strengthen, and enrich
the lives of Northland residents.
Mrs. Garney and Mrs. Aust served as the Honorary Co-Chairs of the 2006 Harvest Ball.
Each year, The Harvest Ball designates 25% of its net proceeds to be set aside, reserved for future major needs. In its 21-year history, The Harvest Ball has contributed to more than 60 charities. Awards from the 2007 Ball have been distributed. Applications for funding from the 2008 Harvest Ball are now being accepted.
