The Harvest Ball Society is no longer accepting applications for 2010 Beneficiaries. Please visit our web site again in January 2011 to submit an application before the April 1, 2011 deadline.
Founded in 1987, the Harvest Ball Society has become the largest single fundraising event devoted exclusively to raising funds for charities serving the Northland. Since its inception, the Harvest Ball Society has distributed over $4.6 million to many different deserving programs. Proceeds from the 24th annual Harvest Ball will benefit programs and services designed to stabilize, strengthen, and enrich the lives of Northland residents. The Harvest Ball Society also benefits the Northland Community Foundation, which is a component of The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.
Who may apply:
• Tax exempt 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1) organizations serving the Northland
Harvest Ball Society will not fund:
• Individual/Scholarships
• Any multi-year funding commitment
• Private foundations
• Organizations that restrict choices or limit options
• Political parties, candidates or political activities
• Programs for evangelical purposes. The Harvest Ball Society will support efforts of religious organizations to provide services to anyone regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.
Funding accountability:
• Grant recipients will be expected to send representatives to Harvest Ball Society activities, including the Fall Fashion Show in September and The Harvest Ball in November. Additionally, a representative may be invited to make a brief presentation describing services at a meeting of The Harvest Ball Society Committee sometime during the funding year. The 2010 grants will be awarded at our Annual Meeting Tuesday January 18, 2011 at 10:00 am at the home of Charles and Patty Garney
